Profilbildung NRW QuGrids

The goal of “QuGrids: Quantum-based Energy Grids” is to establish an interdisciplinary team of scientists that investigate how quantum-based technologies (quantum computing and quantum communications) can transform planning and operation of energy grids. We aim at creating an NRW located network that leads quantum-based energy grids research, development as well as dissemination and education. Quantum technology can dramatically revolutionize how we will plan and operate energy grids, including the necessary information and communication technologies, but at the same time the interdisciplinary and fundamental nature of the needed research activities require a jump start hardly achievable with traditional funding schemes and that vice versa fit well the goals and structure of the “Profilbildung NRW” program.
