NeuroSys: Algorithm-Hardware Co-Design (Projekt C) - A
NeuroSys aims to establish the Aachen region as the world's leading location for research, development and innovation in neuromorphic hardware for artificial intelligence (AI). To this end, all competences will be bundled in the region and developed into an innovation ecosystem that is required for the development of future European AI hardware. The long-term vision is to develop a genuinely European path through technological independence in this ethically and economically sensitive area. Sub-project C "Algorithm-Hardware Co-Design" builds the bridge between the novel components and the innovative applications. On the one hand, the technological capabilities are translated bottom-up into possibilities for improving the execution of the algorithms. On the other hand, bottlenecks in the computing speed or barriers due to excessive energy requirements are broken down top-down into challenges for future component properties.
